What we keep

Reading the site needs nothing from you but your star sign, and we do not store that.
We keep something only if you ask for the daily email:

• Your email address, to send the daily reading you asked for.
• Your star sign, so each email is written for your sign.
• Your time zone, taken from your browser, so the email arrives in your morning.
• When you ask for the email: the IP address (for a newer IPv6 address, only its network prefix) and browser type the request came from, to stop abuse.

Cookies and your browser

One cookie, which keeps today’s cards the same each time you look.
It holds a scrambled code, made from your IP address the first time you visit (not the address itself), or a reference to your daily email if you opened the reading from one.
Your browser also remembers your star sign on your own device, so the form can be skipped next time.
No other tracking or analytics cookies.

Advertising

Google shows the ads on this site, and Google and its partners use cookies to choose and measure them.
Those ads can be based on your earlier visits to this site and to other sites.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, you are asked first, and you can change your answer at any time from the privacy link Google shows at the foot of the page.
Anywhere, you can turn off personalised ads in Google’s ad settings, or for many ad companies at once at aboutads.info.
To show an ad, Google receives your IP address and browser details, and uses them under its own privacy policy.

Who helps us run the site

We use hosting, email and database providers to process your information for us.
When you ask for the daily email, Cloudflare checks that a person, not a program, is asking. To do that it receives your IP address and browser details.
Our database is hosted in the European Union, and some of these services are based outside South Africa, so your information is stored and processed abroad.
We use them only under their published data protection terms.

How long we keep it

Your email address and settings are kept until you ask us to delete them.
Unsubscribing stops the emails at once.
Write to us as well and we delete the address too.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Write to us through our contact page, from the address that gets the daily email.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
